Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a new valuation?

Tap the + button in the top right of the Quick Val list screen. Select your property type (Commercial, Residential, or Mixed Use), set the number of units, then tap Start Valuation.

My data has disappeared after updating the app

Your saved valuations are stored in the iOS Documents directory. They should persist across updates. If data is missing, check whether the app was deleted and reinstalled — iOS does not preserve app data on deletion. If you have iCloud backup enabled, your data may be restorable from a backup.

How do I handle a tenant holding over?

Within a commercial unit card, scroll to the Tenant Holding Over toggle and switch it on. Quick Val will run the Term & Reversion calculation over the notice period you specify, then revert to ERV — the correct treatment under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

Can I add my company logo to PDF reports?

Yes. Tap the gear icon (⚙) in the top-left of the Quick Val list screen to open Settings. Tap Add Company Logo to choose an image from your photo library. Your logo will appear in the header of all generated PDF reports.

How do I save a valuation?

Tap the save icon (↓ into a tray) in the top-right toolbar of any valuation. A brief checkmark confirms the save. Your property will appear in the Quick Val list screen.

Are my valuations backed up?

Quick Val stores all data locally on your device. If you have iCloud Backup or iTunes/Finder backup enabled in iOS, your Quick Val data will be included in those backups automatically.

What are the Advanced Assumptions?

Advanced Assumptions are the global valuation parameters — yields, void periods, rent-free periods, and capital costs — that apply across all units. Any changes you make are saved as your new default. Tap Reset to Defaults to restore the original values.

Does Quick Val use my data or send it anywhere?

No. Quick Val makes zero network requests. All data you enter stays entirely on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
